MYL U15 Boy's Select Team: This spring season, Medway pulled together its first Medway Youth Lacrosse U15 select team. The top 7th and 8th graders in Medway are competing in the Mass. Youth Select Lacrosse League (MYSLL) along with 21 other teams throughout eastern Mass. The boys have really enjoyed fielding the best players in Medway to compete with the best players in the other towns. The team just finished the regular season last Friday with a win over Shrewsbury. Overall, the team posted an impressive record of 7-1 in their first year! More importantly, they have learned how to play as a cohesive unit on defense, offense and in the transition game. At this level, it is not about the individual effort, but how we work together as a team. Passing, field position and team defense are critical success factors of the team.
The first playoff game is Tuesday 6/8 at 6:15pm at the Middle School (Charland Field). Feel free to show up to the game to see some high-caliber lacrosse and to cheer for the team. I am sure this is the first of many Medway teams that will successfully compete in the select league and it represents a milestone for the lacrosse program in town. Lacrosse is the fastest growing sport in the country and Medway continues to enhance it's reputation as a competitive, successful, lacrosse program in Massachusetts.

Medway Welcomes Team USA Member Matt Striebel
Matt Striebel from the USA National team, MLL, and Trilogy Lacrosse worked with the boys at practice. Matt worked with the younger kids on the fundamentals of shooting passing and catching and with the older kids on situation recognition. The boys' youth teams are a part of the MBYLL - Mass. Bay Youth Lacrosse League. Medway is part of the South Central region.

Typical Schedule: Boys' games are usually held between 12 - 4:30 on Sundays. A few mid-week games are also played. Practices are usually twice a week - schedules are set according to coach availability. Most home games and practices take place at the Middle School.
